Sometimes there are places where, as soon as I unlock the door, I know: we're going to feel at home here as a family! The Apartment Etoile31 in Egmond aan Zee was exactly such a place for us. After traveling with kids, luggage, snacks, jackets, sand toys, and all the little things you suddenly "absolutely" need for a family vacation, it was a small joy to arrive at this beautiful and cozy apartment.

Etoile31 is centrally located on the boulevard of Egmond aan Zee, in the apartment building De Sterflat, with views towards the boulevard, beach, and sea. The beach and dunes are only about a minute's walk away, and the center of Egmond aan Zee with restaurants, cafes, and small shops is also easily accessible. For us, this location was golden with children. Also ideal with a stroller, as there is an elevator.

Why Etoile31 works so well for families

What I find particularly important about vacation rentals with children: they have to be beautiful, but not complicated. Cozy, but practical. Stylish, but not so much that you're constantly afraid the children might break something. Etoile31 hits this mix just right.

The apartment is equipped for up to four people plus a baby or toddler. There are two bedrooms, a bathroom, an open kitchen with a refrigerator, cooking island, dishwasher, espresso machine, kettle, and enough equipment to truly cater for yourselves. In addition, there is a separate dining table, a bright living area with sea views, and a terrace from which you can watch the sunset.

Stylish, bright, and still child-friendly

The interior is calm, warm, and minimalist, with great attention to detail. The accommodation was renovated in December 2022 and combines a very beautiful design sense with a homely atmosphere. That's what I particularly liked.

And yet, children were considered. The apartment includes games, wooden blocks, and Schleich animals. That might sound like a small thing, but anyone traveling with children knows: precisely these details can save an afternoon.

For smaller children, a few things are also prepared: a travel cot and a Stokke Tripp Trapp high chair are available on request. Children up to and including three years old can sleep in the baby bed.

An apartment directly on the beach of Egmond aan Zee

The greatest luxury at Etoile31 for us was clearly its proximity to the beach. In about a minute, you are at the North Sea. We didn't have to consider whether a short beach visit was "worthwhile". Of course, it is worthwhile when the beach is practically on your doorstep.

A quick trip to the sea in the morning, chilling in the beach club and flying kites in the afternoon, watching the sunset in the evening. No car, no searching for parking, no heavy beach luggage for a half-day trip. And if someone is tired, hungry, or wet, you're quickly back in the apartment.

Egmond aan Zee with children: beach, dunes, and small excursions

Egmond aan Zee is a wonderful place for families because you don't need much to have great days. Beach, dunes, fresh air, cafes, ice cream, and a small town center are completely sufficient. I found it particularly nice that you can take it slow here on vacation. No mandatory program, no overflowing to-do list - just go out and see what everyone feels like doing.
