Between surfboards, sandy beaches, and the relaxed atmosphere of a boho surf village with the comfort of an international resort – that was our first impression of the Radisson Blu Resort, Taghazout Bay Surf Village. We were there with our two kids, our youngest still a toddler at the time, and it was one of those stays where everything just clicked: relaxed parents, happy children, and a sunset over the Atlantic every evening.

Family-Friendly Bungalows

Instead of classic hotel rooms, at the Radisson Blu Taghazout Bay, you stay in freestanding bungalows, spread across a spacious, green area directly on the Atlantic. The Family Bungalow Suites offer space for two adults and two children, with their own living area and bedroom – perfect for us with a toddler, as we could still comfortably sit in the living area in the evenings while our little one was already asleep. Many bungalows also have a small wooden terrace with a hammock, where we loved spending the quiet morning hours.

The direct beach access was a huge plus for us with a toddler: instead of traversing a long distance with a stroller and beach bags, we were on the sand in just a few steps.

Large Pool and Kids Club

The heart of the resort is the large pool, which seems to blend almost directly into the Atlantic – a truly impressive sight. Here, we spent most of our time during the day as a family, while our older child visited the Kids Club in between. There, children are entertained according to their age with crafts, small team games, and sports activities – great for giving the kids some individual fun while we parents could enjoy a quiet hour by the pool. The Kids Club wasn't quite right for our toddler yet, but there are plenty of child-friendly options at the pool and in the restaurant, including high chairs and kids' menus.

The Surf Academy Right Next Door

Taghazout Bay is known as one of Morocco's best surf spots, and the hotel's own Surf Academy is located right next to the resort. Even though our kids were too young for their own surf lessons, it was an experience to watch the surf students train and soak up the relaxed surfer vibe on the beach. For families with slightly older children, the Surf Academy is a real highlight – courses are offered for beginners as well as advanced surfers.

Everything at the Hotel – or a Walk to Taghazout

What we particularly liked about the Radisson Blu Taghazout Bay was the flexibility. If you don't feel like leaving the premises, you can easily spend the whole day at the resort – between the pool, beach, restaurants, and Kids Club, it never gets boring. If, on the other hand, you want to experience more Moroccan flair, simply stroll along the coastal path directly into the fishing village of Taghazout. In about 15 to 20 minutes on foot, you'll be right in the center of town, with its colorful cafés, small boutiques, and relaxed surfer lifestyle. For us, it was the perfect mix: resort comfort when you just don't want to organize anything with kids, and authentic Moroccan feeling whenever we felt like it.

Taghazout as Part of Our Morocco Trip

For us, the Radisson Blu Taghazout Bay was a stop on a larger road trip through Morocco. Before our time on the Atlantic, we visited the Agafay Desert near Marrakech – an impressive stone desert, only an hour's drive from the city, with camel rides, sunsets over the dunes, and a completely different, stark beauty compared to the green coast around Taghazout. It was precisely this combination of bustling Marrakech, stark desert experience, and relaxed beach time on the Atlantic that made our Morocco trip so versatile – and Taghazout was for us the perfect, quiet conclusion after the more lively stops before.

Our Conclusion

The Radisson Blu Taghazout Bay showed us how well surf lifestyle and family holidays can be combined. The beachfront bungalows, the large pool, and the Kids Club gave us parents, with a toddler and an older sibling, a lot of freedom, while the short walk to Taghazout always provided a touch of authentic Moroccan feeling.
