Sometimes it's the places you've never heard of before that excite you the most. That's exactly what happened to us with the Tiny Hotel in Nistelrode. We spent a weekend there with our children and were delighted by this place from the very first moment.

After a few narrow dirt roads, past cows and a curious pony, this special spot suddenly appeared. In the middle of nature, quiet, almost a little hidden, and precisely because of that, so incredibly beautiful.

A Tiny House that doesn't feel so "tiny" at all

Our first feeling upon entering was honestly: Wow. The Tiny Houses are furnished in a Japandi and Scandi style, meaning minimalist, bright, and incredibly stylish. Yet everything feels warm and cozy, not at all cold or impersonal.

Although the houses are compact, they have everything a family needs. The spaces are cleverly utilized, the beds are super comfortable, and the large windows offer constant views of the greenery on all sides.

Two worlds, one concept: The Forest and The Farm

The Tiny Hotel is divided into two areas, each with its own unique charm. "The Forest," 3 houses in the woods with a hot tub, a playground, a sauna, and a small shop. And "The Farm," 2 more cottages located in the middle of the farm, surrounded by chickens, cows, and horses.

At the farm, the children could experience animals up close, observe chickens, and even collect eggs themselves. A highlight for us was a small pond nearby, where we actually discovered tadpoles. A moment you haven't experienced since childhood and then suddenly share with your own children.

In the other area, the forest, it's quieter. The Tiny Houses are located there among the trees, perfect for anyone who truly wants to switch off completely.

Sustainable, uncomplicated, and simply well thought out

A detail we really liked is the small self-service shop directly on the premises. There you can get organic products and everything you need for a relaxed breakfast or a snack around the clock. Everything is uncomplicated and fits perfectly with this decelerated concept.

In addition, children can take one of the go-karts or bicycles, and you can get wood for the fire pit and sheepskins to sit on.

A region that is still a real insider tip

What makes the stay even more special is the surroundings. This corner of the Netherlands is still surprisingly untouristy. We were very often the only tourists in the restaurant!

The area between the fields and forests is perfect for walks, small bike rides, or simply letting the children run free.

Our conclusion after the weekend at the Tiny Hotel

The Tiny Hotel in Nistelrode is not a classic hotel, but a place where children can simply be children and adults can slow down.

We definitely went home with the feeling that we want to come back, preferably in winter, when it gets really cozy in the houses with a fireplace and fire pit. Grilling marshmallows outside and chilling in the warm hot tub. And perhaps also with the idea in mind that less is sometimes truly more.
